Update on NLA
- It has been 3 months since a SWNA member attended a meeting. (Jill stepped down) Bill will use the newsletter to try to recruit someone to fill the position.
- There were discussions at the last NART meeting about merging neighborhood associations from a total of 13 down to 7.
- Members of the public intend to make a proposal to the City of Bend.
- Expanding NA boundaries needs to be discussed, especially as new subdivisions are built.
- Tote bags are still available.
- Streaming of meetings online was tabled for a future meeting.
- The NA has a subscription to Hootsuite, which allows the NA to push notices from the City of Bend to the NA Facebook page. It was suggested that the board try to recruit someone savvy with social media to manage this.
- Erik suggested highlighting a VisitNWX business and sharing info about what they do, who the owners are, etc. as a way to increase involvement by businesses . Erik will reach out to businesses.
- NA grants are available. Wildfire evacuation routes was mentioned as one idea. Erik will follow up to see if grant funds are available.

- Add one week to the notice period for neighborhood meetings (an increase from 15 days to 21 days)
- Add 2 days to the comment period for Type II applications (an increase from 14 days to 16 days).
- Increase the notification radius for Type III and IV applications from 250 ft to 500 ft.
- An illegal firework committee was created and NART would like someone from SWNA to join. Glenn volunteered to contact them.
- Bill suggested contacting CERT team members to gauge interest in being part of the illegal firework committee.
- CERT volunteers were called on to assist and respond to wildfire evacuees to provide support.
- The City of Bend asks for engagement reports related to social media posts.
- When the next newsletter is sent out, we will make a recruiting announcement for open board positions, including Treasurer, NLA Rep, and at-large director.
- We have $8,431 in the budget, which includes the allocation for the 2021 fiscal year.
