public hearings May 13th & 15th on sign ordinance changes to allow murals throughout the city4/21/2019 The City is proposing changes to the sign ordinance which currently allows wall murals only in the Makers' District. The proposed amendments to the Bend Code would allow mural signs to be painted on cement or concrete buildings or retaining walls that are located on a property that abuts an arterial or collector anywhere in the City. In SWNA, arterial and collector streets include: Skyliners Rd, Shevlin Park Rd, Mt Washington, Crossing Drive, and Skyline Ranch Rd. One of the possible amendments would allow murals on certain residential buildings on those roads. Please see the staff memo attached below for additional details about the changes being proposed. Two public hearings will be held on this issue: -- Monday, May 13th at 5:30 before the Planning Commission -- Wednesday, May 15th at 7:00 before the City Council Written comments will also be accepted. Please see the notice below for contact information.
