Introduction
The City's planning department launched a new software platform, called CityView, in December 2020. CityView replaces ePlans as the repository for development applications and other land use measures, such as code amendments, that go to hearings before the Planning Commission and City Council for approval.
All projects that were "open" as of the launch were transferred to the new platform, and all new projects in 2021 and beyond will be housed there. Projects (including planning applications and code amendments) that had been completed or closed before the launch will continue to reside in ePlans for the time being. So, if someone wants to find the records for a development completed in 2018, for example, those documents will be in ePlans.
CityView uses a different project numbering system. Whereas ePlans used numbers in this format -- PZ-20-0999 -- the new system will use the following format -- PL20200999. Note the use of the year and a sequential number.
